Diabetic patients should receive a yearly dilated eye exam.  This exam can be billed through your vision or medical insurance.  At your diabetic eye exam you will be worked up by the technician.  Your technician will then take you to see Dr. Seidman.  Dr. Seidman will evaluate how your diabetes is affecting your vision and ocular health.  Your exam must include a dilated retinal exam.  Dr. Seidman would also strongly recommend a retinal photograph to monitor for stability over time.

If you and Dr. Seidman determine a visit with a specialist is needed, the team will help you schedule your visit.  Dr. Seidman will also send your diabetes physician a letter discussing your diabetic eye exam findings.
