We, at Eyecare Center of Ken Caryl, strongly recommend the use of polarized sunglass lenses.  Here in Colorado we spend a lot of time outdoors and wearing glasses can provide UV protection for your eyes.  Similar to sunscreen for your skin, UV protection from glasses is key to your eye health.  Many patients prefer sunglasses for outdoor activities.

The polarization provides optimal vision with our bight Colorado sunshine.  The polarization is extra helpful on sunny days with snow on the ground.  Polarization blocks some of the light waves from passing through the lens.   This decreases glare and improved quality of your vision.  For patients who enjoy fishing polarization is what allows you to see into the water.
